Here is some info that I got from my Motorola Rep and some info I got from my Verizon Rep today.
- The HDMI out will only allow you to view pictures and video that you have taken with the phone, or that is on the phone. That means no Youtube, or Blockbuster TV viewing
- The OMAP processor handles processes only unlike the Snapdragon processor that handles both graphics and processes. This does mean longer battery life and smoother graphics. (He did CONFIRM that the Droid X has a longer battery life then the Moto Droid)
- Best Buy should have enough stock on release day to meet pre-orders UNLESS SOMETHING HAS CAUSED A SHORTAGE IN YOUR AREA, SO DO NOT BANK ON THIS 100%
- Motorola pushed back the original launch date 2 weeks to get more stock in on the Droid X. The very original date was supposed to be July 1st, but got pushed back to the 15th.
- You can turn on the screen by pressing the "home" key on the Droid X. You don't only have to push the on/off button. That's pretty cool!
- I asked about reception (double antenna) he was not allowed to say any specifics just told me it has been greatly improved, and it had something to do with an Algoritum. Not sure, but I can confirm the signal is better!
- Motorola Rep also said that when you record in HD you are recording in 16:9 aspect ratio, so when you do go to play it on the the HDTV you won't miss anything on the sides! That's pretty cool to me.
I'll post more as I find out more.
- Something else really cool was when I played with the phone on Monday I did the speed test compared to my Droid Incredible right next to it. The Droid Incredible got about 1.08 Mb for Download and the Droid X beat it every time with a top Download of about 2.2 Mb. That's pretty impressive to me!
