The Los Angeles Lakers now have the home court advantage back after taking game three from the Boston Celtics 91-84 . Paul Pierce emphatically stated that they would not be returning to L.A. and he may be right. The Lakers could finish the series in Boston, but if they do not, then both teams will be headed back to L.A. Kobe Bryant did most of the work tonight for the Lakers by posting big numbers in every statistic, but Derek Fisher was the clutch player in the fourth quarter. Fisher had 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and he provided the energy for the Lakers to finish the game. The Lakers were up by as much as 17 points, but the Celtics continued to come back, eventually bringing the game back to a two point game. Lamar Odom also had a good game off the bench for the Lakers with 12 points and 5 rebounds. It seemed as though the Lakers solved most of their defensive problelms from game two as Allen only had 2 points and Rondo was held to 11 points and under double digits in the assists category. Kevin Garnett had his best game with 25 points and 6 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Lakers prevailed. Game three is Thursday night in Boston.

The Boston Celtics came out on fire in game 2 as they beat the Lakers 103-94 on Sunday night. Ray Allen proved to be the difference maker for the Celtics as he scored 27 of his 32 points in the first half. Allen said it felt like game 1 to him because he had only played 27 minutes in game 1 because of foul trouble. Allen also set an NBA Finals record as he hit 8 3-pointers in the game. Allen wasn't the only big story for the Celtics as Rajon Rondo showed up in the second half as Allen cooled off. Rondo had the first triple-double in the Finals since Tim Duncan in 2003. The Lakers fought to get back in the game, but Rondo scored 10 of his 19 points in the 4th quarter to put the Lakers away. Kobe Bryant had 21 points, but he was bothered by foul trouble as he picked up his 5th foul early in the 4th quarter. Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum combined for 46 points, but it was too little as the Celtics prevailed. Game 3 is Tuesday night in Boston.

The Lakers came out ready for the Celtics as game 1 of the NBA Finals proved to be a very physical game as both teams were in foul trouble from the start of the game. After just 27 seconds,  Ron Artest and Paul Pierce were hit with double technical fouls, which would set the tone for the rest of the game. The Lakers were too much to handle in the paint and in the rebound department as the Lakers were plus eleven on the boards. Kobe Bryant had 30 points and 7 rebounds as Pau Gasol posted a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Along with Bryant and Gasol, Ron Artest added 15 points and played lock down defense on Paul Pierce the entire night making him shoot 6-13 from the floor. Another important element of the game for the Celtics was the foul trouble that Ray Allen had all night. He had 5 fouls in just 27 minutes of play. The Celtics were also only 1-10 from the three-point line as the Lakers proved in game one they were ready for what the Celtics were bringing to the table by playing great defense and matching Boston's physical play. Game 2 is Sunday night at the Staples Center.
